The most common stuff is like raiders attacking something or Talon Company mercs hunting me down. I know that there is suppose to be a random encounter there, but some are just truly strange for me. Its been awhile since I played Fallout 3, but when I first got it about two years ago, I played it day and night and every time I created a new game and went to Super-Duper Mart for the Wasteland Survival Guide quest, I get a random encounter with something there in the parking lot.
